What it is

Zip On Mars is a free, browser-based tool for two everyday tasks: compressing files into a .zip archive, and extracting the contents of a .zip you've been sent. No installs, no accounts, no hidden fees.

Why we built it

Most "online zip tool" search results lead to sites buried in ads, forced sign-up walls, or artificial file-size limits designed to push you toward a paid plan. We wanted the opposite: open the page, drop in your files, get your result — and get out of your way.

How it works

Every file is transferred over an encrypted connection. Once your archive is created or extracted, the files are automatically deleted a short time later — nothing is kept longer than it takes to serve your download, and nothing is shared with third parties. Anyone who needs to zip a batch of files to send, or unzip an archive someone sent them, without hunting for the right software. Students, developers, designers, or anyone who just wants their files handled — and then left alone.
